Hi guys, had vacuum problems for a while and finally isolated it to the vac pump, this is a european 2.8crd with the pump driven by the engine, not easy job to do. Got prices all over but the cheapest was equivalent to $1000 so Im contemplating leaving it and fitting an electric vac pump from a VW.

Turns out the sensor port on the intake manifold was completely sealed up by that oily-soot gunk, so the MAP sensor was always reading incorrect even though the sensor itself was fine.

9 posts · Joined 2006. #2 · Mar 16, 2007. I own a 2006 Sport with a little over 20,000 on it, the only issue I have had is the rear main seal needed replacing and all of the recalls. Overall it is very reliable but time will tell. I wish that there was a manual tranny option on this thing. 2006 Jeep LIberty Sport CRD.
